For example, if you run the 100m hurdles in 14 seconds, you would receive a certain number of points based on the world record time for that event. The same applies to the other events.

How are the Pentathlon Points Calculated? 

The pentathlon points are calculated by adding up the points you’ve received in each event. The final total is your overall score for the pentathlon.

For a better understanding, here’s an illustration: 

For Day 1, 

The first event is the 100M Hurdles, let’s say Anna’s result for the 100M hurdle is 12. The calculator automatically calculates her points and which results in 1,280 points. 

The next event on the calculator is the high jump. Anna jumped 120cm high and for her points, 312. 

For the shot put, her result was 34 and her points resulted in 2166. 

Lastly on the first day, she completed the 200M hurdle in 14 seconds, and her point resulted in 2,145. 

For Day 2,

The first event is the long jump and her points for a 1200 result are 3,161. 

Her javelin went as far as 21.00cm which resulted in 307 points. 

For her 800M, she took about 10 seconds and her point for that is 3,445. And so for the first and second days, her total points are 12,816.
