Though Munchkin is a known brand in the world of baby equipment. These latch bottles are relatively new to the baby bottle market, and they have some great innovative features. That is to say, Munchkin was inspired by the latch process and created a nipple. They mimic the feel, movement, and let-down of a mom’s breast. The nipple stretches as the baby sucks, to allow the nipple to maintain a good latch. It also has dynamic milk flow. So when the baby pushes more against the nipple, the flow increases, just like mom’s breasts.

The unique anti-colic valve is located on the bottom of the bottle, which reduces the complexity of the washing process. As the baby consumes more milk, the valve slowly allows air to enter the bottle. Then it decreasing the negative pressure and reducing air ingestion.

Lastly, these BPA-free bottles are well-liked for the nipple design.

If you aren’t crazy about giving your baby plastic bottles, you might want to consider using glass bottles instead. Glass bottles are a safer alternative to plastic, and they remain sparkling clean year after year, compared to plastic bottles that can start to look murky.

Why should parents choose this?

This is a great budget-friendly bottle that has a lot of very likable attributes.

The most praised feature is that there is no noticeable leakage from the separate bottle parts during feeding or transportation. No leaking from the valve, either, and there is only minimal leaking from baby‘s mouth thanks to the nipple designs diameter that mimics mother’s breast. This kind of leaking is similar to leaking that occurs when a baby breastfeeds as well, so this is really big thumbs up for Tommee Tippee!

What’s more?

The nipple is wider than the narrower options found on some of the other manufacturers and it has a single air vent. The nipples didn’t collapse while feeding thanks to being slightly harder and firmer than most of the competition, but they do not hurt baby’s tiny mouth or gums..

Personal thoughts

Personally, I am a great fan of Tommee Tippee, and I have a wide range of their products in my home. I used Closer to Nature bottles for my both kids, and I gave away a few as a Baby Shower gifts. None of those mothers threw Tommee Tippee bottles away, but they thanked me for, how they called it, the best bottles for colic and gas, and the best bottles for newborn!

I couldn’t be happier, as I do share their opinion that these are the best baby feeding bottles, ever!

Choosing the right baby bottle not only impacts your little one, but you as well.

In order to avoid that, we made sure that our picks met a certain set of criteria.

Let’s start with bottles

Bottle Material

Plastic – Plastic bottles are lightweight, shatterproof, inexpensive and can be found just about anywhere. The most important feature about this type of bottles is to be BPA free

GlassGlass bottles can be heavy and can shatter if dropped, although a silicone sleeve can help prevent this. Baby may find it difficult to hold a glass bottle. Naturally BPA-free, glass bottles last longer but can be expensive.

Other material

Silicone – Bottles made from silicone are light, unbreakable and also BPA-free. While more expensive than both glass and plastic, they mimic natural breast shape. They are squeezable letting the baby feel like it is squeezing his mom’s boob.

Stainless Steel – Bottles made from stainless steel are light, unbreakable and BPA-free as well and can last for a very long time. Howevelyr, they are hard to find and quite expensive, which is totally unnecessary with a wide selection of glass, plastic or silicone bottles.  .

Bottle Shape

Traditional bottles can be tall and have slight curves or angles. So they help to keep your baby from ingesting air while they eat. A lot of sellers on the market claims that they designed the bottle to help mothers and babies to hold. Some wide-necked bottles can help with making measuring the formula you’re using easier, but this shape tends to not fit into drink-holders or most of the sterilizers.

Venting Systems

Babies who become colicy need instant relief. In fact, there are many bottles on the market that claim to prevent colic. For example, one way they do this is by having a venting system in the bottle itself. You have seen that majority of reviewed bottles does have a venting system.

And now, nipples

Material

Like bottles, nipples can come in varying materials. Whether they made the bottle from latex or silicone, there are some differences between them. Latex nipples tend to be softer and more flexible. However, they don’t last very long and some babies may have a latex allergy, keeping these from being an option.

Silicone nipples on the other hand, can last much longer and can be firmer than latex nipples.

Shape

Todays’ orthodontic nipples come with a bulb that is flat on its side and rests on your little one’s tongue.

Flat-topped and wide nipples, which mothers using them with wide bottles, is more like a mother’s breast and can be a good option to use if you’re planning on switching from breastfeeding to bottle-feeding.

Size and Flow

If your child is a newborn or preemie, the smallest nipple is likely to be the best option, they call this stage 1, because of their very slow flow rate.

In stores, nipples are marked in accordance with a size and suggested age range. These are guidelines and if your little one doesn’t follow them exactly, you should not be concerned. You may need to try a few different sized nipples to find the best one for your baby

Different Types of Baby Bottles

Standard

My mom called me crazy when she heard my research about the best rated baby bottles before I give birth. She said then that bottle is just a bottle with nipple and collar and that’s it, without any features, to go back to simplicity and stop inventing things like Anti Colic vent!

You guys are not my mom, you do know that sometimes they make a simple standard bottle from poor quality material and that can harm our munchkin’s health.

Angled Neck

An angled neck baby bottle can look a lot like a standard bottle with one obvious difference. The noticeable bend in the neck of the bottle. They designed it to keep the nipple full of milk or formula and at the same time preventing air bubble getting get into the nipples.

Pediatricians recommend feeding your baby using a semi-upright position to help prevent ear infections. Angled neck bottles help encourage feeding in this position and can be much easier for mom and dad to hold.

Wide Neck

On a wide neck bottle, the design of the bottle is exactly as the name implies. They made the bottle wider to accommodate for the wider nipple that goes on top of the bottle.

For instance, the wider nipple is more closely resemble a mother’s breast. Because of this similarity, preventing nipple confusion is very possible. This makes wide neck bottles a very suitable option for those mothers who may want to switch back and forth between breastfeeding and bottle-feeding and we can name wide neck bottles to be the best baby bottles for breastfed babies

4. Vented

This bottle has vents that help prevent the air from mixing with their food and swallowed by letting air bubbles move towards the back end, or the base, of the bottle, preventing colics and keeping our sweet baby safe from pain and tears, so the vented bottles are the best rated ones, with the minimal percentage of yays or nays for other benefits they are offering to a hungry baby.

F.A.Q

Breastfeeding or formula, what is better?

Breastfeeding is so much more than simply providing food for the baby. It is a complex process of baby-mommy bonding, difficult and challenging in the beginning, but the sweetest ever.
Moms who opt towards breastfeeding their babies exclusively, have pointed out the convenience that comes with breastfeeding as well as the nutritional benefits that come with the milk coming straight from you to your baby.
There are benefits for moms, too as their uterus is shrinking while breastfeeding, and they lose weight, too.
Not to eliminate the budgetary issues, bearing in mind the average cost of a formula, and how many boxes do we need monthly. Breastfeeding is free of charge!

However, moms who choose to feed their children with a baby bottle, while they do agree on a lot of the points made by those who are pro-breastfeeding, also see baby bottles as a way to supply their children with quality food to help them grow, as today’ formulas are carefully made with ingredients selected to answer to a specific problem (Preemie, Organic, Combiotic, Lactose free)
While some moms will cite the convenience of being able to know exactly the amount your little one is eating when they are fed by bottle, either side of the conversation has its own merits and will always come down to personal preference, and never should be a topic of a fight or a choice that will make a mom feel embarrassed.

Why BPA and Phthalates Are To Be Avoided?

Bisphenol A commonly known as BPA is a chemical additive that was usual in plastics ranging form vehicle dashboards to molded furniture to food service items, such as cups, baby bottles, etc, and all up until recent years, when fears over the health impact of this chemical begin a precipitous decline.
The hazards to human health caused by Bisphenol A are caused by its ability to act like an endocrine disruptor; that is to say BPA harms the body’s ability to create and distribute many of the hormones needed for proper growth, development, and general maintenance of healthiness.

Phthalates are yet another once common class of chemicals used to keep plastics softer and more malleable, making them easier to mold into goods. Too much exposure to phthalates during the early years of may harm proper development of the lungs, the liver, the kidneys, and the reproductive system.

Do I need some more bottle accessories?

Yes, you do. A bottle alone is just the start of the bottle feeding story, and there is a whole variety of products that follow, so read carefully and pick what you need..

Firstly, cleaning the bottle and its various attachments. After every use, a bottle should be rinsed out with water and then cleaned with a mild soap, then thoroughly rinsed again. A good dish drying rack is what you need to dry all the components after washing, reducing the chance for mold or mildew growth the commence.

Regular use of a bottle brush is the best way clean baby bottles as with a brush you can remove any milk or formula residue that may have been left after rinsing. So long as your baby‘s bottle is rated safe for such treatment, it’s also a good idea to periodically run the bottle and its parts through the dishwasher and even to submerge them in boiling water (with a dash of acid vinegar added) for a safe way to kill off all bacteria.

Moreover, to make a bottle more enjoyable for the infant, consider using a bottle warmer. Unlike the process of microwaving a bottle, which can damage the nutrients within its milk or formula, or submerging it in hot water, which can make temperature regulation difficult and last forever, baby bottle warmers gently warm fluids to the ideal temperature for a young child’s comfort and pleasure and without burning hotspots.

And of course don’t forget to have a bib  (or five) on hand for catching and cleaning up the drips, dribbles, and spit-ups that occur with feeding an infant. Putting a bib on your child before a bottle feeding can mean not having to change his entire outfit later.

In conclusion, we hope that our list of the 10 Best Baby Bottles in 2023 was able to provide you with some options to consider when first reaching out. With many options on the market, we believe that our list can help you make a perfect choice.
